About

Dariusz Wojtała

My name is Dariusz Wojtała and I'm a photographer from Gdynia. I graduated from the Tricity School of Photography ("TSF"), and I've been taking photographs since 2018.

I mostly photograph the city, its architecture, and everyday moments that often go unnoticed. In my photographs I look for light, geometry, and the relationship between people and space.

I'm less interested in documenting places than in interpreting them - reducing urban chaos to lines, shapes, light, and single gestures. Sometimes I do this through color and a minimalist frame, other times through black and white, which lets me focus on form, contrast, and atmosphere.

For me, photography is a way of carefully observing reality and finding order in what seems ordinary at first glance. I don't look for spectacular events. I'm more interested in images that exist only for a moment - the right light, a person's silhouette, a shadow, or a chance arrangement of the city's elements.

My two photographic perspectives, color and black and white, are united by one thing: a subjective way of looking at space, and an attempt to show it a little differently than we see it every day.

This approach has been repeatedly recognized and awarded in the photography competitions I've entered, and my photographs have been exhibited both in Poland and abroad.
